Why choose a 4 Star Camp?We specialize in summer opportunities for youth ages 10-18 at the University of Virginia and ages 9-18 at Stony Brook University.
We are 4 Star Camps - a family owned and operated business with a passion for learning and helping youth expand their abilities and horizons. top What programs do you offer?We offer primarily 3 basic programs: Academics, Tennis, Golf or any combination of the 3 plus Soccer and Basketball at University of Virginia and only Full Day Tennis at Stony Brook University. You may download individual brochures from the "Brochures" section in the left navigation bar. top What are your camp fees and dates for the upcoming season?Information on our fee structure and camp dates can be found on our 2010 Dates & Fees Schedule. top What is included with the Linen Package?(available at UVa only)A fan, sheets, towels and a pillow. top What is the Key/Damage deposit?This deposit is required for both boarding and day students and covers lost keys and access cards, damage to dorm room, furnishings, common areas, campus facilities or camp/staff vehicles. This deposit will be refunded approximately 2 weeks after camp stay if there are no losses or damages. 4 Star reserves the right to use this deposit to cover any unpaid balances. top What is your cancellation policy?All cancellations must be received in writing and are subject to the following:
What is the Tuition Insurance?May be purchased prior to June 1 for 5% of your total camp fees (excluding: room key/damage fee, SAT Prep fee of $600). Insurance protects your camp investment should you need to cancel after June 1 up to 5 pm the Friday prior to the start of your camp stay resulting in refund of tuition monies less $500 for Academics/SAT/American Studies or $200 for Sports/Tennis/Golf Camps. Do I need Traveler's Insurance as an international student?We recommend that all international students to our camps purchase traveler's insurance to cover any illness or injury while at camp. We do not have specific companies that we work with but can give you a couple of links outside our website to help you with your research: www.ivisitorinsurance.com and www.sevencorners.com How do I apply to camp?The completed and signed camp application form must be received with payment in order for the application process to be begin.
What forms of payment do you accept?You may pay by check, money order payable to 4 Star Camps, by credit card (MasterCard or VISA only) or by wire transfer (please contact our registrar for instructions). top How does your payment schedule work?
Will I receive a confirmation after applying?Yes, you will receive by email a complete packet including your invoice, program confirmation and other forms/information. top What other forms are required by camp prior to attending?Your confirmation packet will include all forms required by 4 Star. You may also download this packet from the "Forms" section of our website. top What airports can I fly into?For those choosing a University of Virginia camp we offer a limited service to and from the Charlottesville-Albermarle Airport (CHO) during a specific time period for no extra charge (please discuss travel arrangements with our registrar before making your plans). We can also travel to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), however, an extra charge of $150 (each way) will apply. For those choosing Stony Brook University, Long Island's Islip-MacArthur Airport is 16 miles from campus and is serviced by direct flights by major airlines and commuter lines. top What other means of travel are available?Charlottesville is also serviced by Amtrak and Greyhound-Trailways. We do offer a limited service to these stations during a specific time period for no extra charge (please discuss travel arrangements with our registrar before making your plans). Stony Brook University is accessible by train (Long Island Railroad). top |
